About Lakeside Concert Band

Lakeside Concert Band is an intermediate concert band catering for adult players.  The band was formed in 2005 to accommodate the rising number of wind and brass players in the county who had progressed to an intermediate level of playing through the Learn As You Play scheme. The intention of the band was to fill the gap between the Learn As You Play groups and the Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Band. Today members include former Learn As You Play members, adults who have learnt privately and want to play in a group and adults who have not played for a long time and wish to get back in the swing of things.

On Thursdays 7 - 9pm, in term-time

The focus of the band is to learn and develop the skills required to play in a group, whilst playing and performing a variety of repertoire at an easy to intermediate level. Some band members stay for a short time, moving to other groups when they feel confident enough in ensemble playing to tackle more challenging music, others have made the band their home. The band is friendly and supportive, with an emphasis on enjoying playing music together.

New members are always welcome so feel free to come along to one of our Thursday evening rehearsals to see if our band is for you.  If you would like an informal chat beforehand please contact lakesideconcertband@gmail.com
