BANDS and SONGWRITERS – come and join the world’s largest youth music festival.

Gloucestershire Music is looking for the best young bands and songwriters throughout Gloucestershire.  Here is your chance to perform as part of the world’s largest youth music festival, Music for Youth.

We're looking for local bands and songwriters to sign up to attend our 2018 Music for Youth Regional Festival.   Bands and songwriters will get a 10 minute performance at the Town Hall along with feedback from two music mentors who work in the music industry.

A ‘Bands & Songwriters’ session has been booked at the Cheltenham Town Hall for Monday 26th March 2018 from 17:00 – 18:00.

To secure your place visit www.mfy.org.uk and enter via the regional festival.  You will need an adult (18 or over) to enter for you, and your group must have minimum of two members.  Solo Artists are encouraged to join forces with fellow young musicians to present a duo or larger band.

Closing date for entries is Thursday  30th November.

Steven Legge (Extended Learning & Provisions Manager for Gloucestershire Music) said:  "The rewards of participating in MFY are fantastic.  All those who perform in our regional festival are invited to attend the National Festival in Birmingham with performance opportunities for some groups at the Birmingham Town Hall, Music Conservatoire and the impressive Symphony Hall.  In the past, some of our groups and songwriters have also gone on to perform at the Royal Albert Hall and the Brit School."

For more information, please email steve.legge@gloucestershire.gov.uk or give us a call on 01452 330300.

Open to bands (under the age of 21) based and / or educated in Gloucestershire. You can be part of a student or school led group.  Entries close January 2017.
