Jazz Improvisation Workshops
GM Jazz Improvisation workshop
Sunday 9th June 2019
Colwell Arts Centre, Derby Road, Gloucester, GL1 4AD.
GM’s next improvisation workshop is fast approaching!
You will work alongside our professional tutors Peter Martin and Tessa Frye. The workshop is open to any beginners who can read notated music (c. grade 3), can play major scales (simple key signatures) and understand the difference between major and minor chord symbols, up to musicians of an intermediate and advanced level. Youth and adult musicians are welcome with a limit for rhythm section spaces.
You will learn improvising skills through a range of activities including work on your style, feel, interpretation and interaction skills. There will be plenty of opportunities to develop your understanding of useful music theory, listen to examples and put your understanding into practice as well! The day will conclude with an informal performance, which family and friends can attend.
£30 per musician per day (£15 bursaries available) - you will be invoiced by Gloucestershire Music via email 2 weeks before the event so payment is received prior to the workshop date.
Full details of the day can be found here

Coming back for more?

This will really help Peter and Tessa prepare the day to meet your needs.
We hope to see you there!
