CENTRE CLOSURE

The Centre and Office will be closed on Tuesday 17th July, Monday 6th to Friday 10th August and Friday 31st August 2018 for staff training and annual instrument stock check.

Trombone

Lessons you can take:

We offer trombone lessons through some of our music centres such as Brookfield Music Centre.

When to start:

From school year 5. Arm length will determine. As with all brass instruments it's preferable to have your second teeth. The Brass Teacher for your school will advise.

Costs:

Hire:

Gloucestershire Music hire charge £26.90 per term. Find out more about hiring from us.

Buy:

From about £350 for a new student instrument with case. Second-hand instruments are available - but beware, the condition of the slide is crucial so get your teacher's advice before buying a used instrument.

Other:

Virtually none - slide lubricating oil.

Pros/cons:

Pros:

Lots of opportunities for playing in bands, Jazz groups and orchestras.

Cons:

By no means easy to play well.
