The world's largest youth music festival comes to Cheltenham in 2018

Gloucestershire Music is proud to announce that the world's largest youth music festival is making it’s way back to Cheltenham in 2018.

Music for Youth (MFY) will be holding one of it's many regional festivals at the impressive Cheltenham Town Hall on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th March 2018.

Our regional festival is one of no less than 50 that span the UK taking place each year between January and April.  The Music for Youth Regional Festival series attracts no less than 40,000 young musicians each year.  This is a chance for them to perform and share their music-making, listen to performances from other local groups, meet other musicians, and gain valuable feedback. They can learn new skills and get advice on how their group can develop from MFY's Music Mentors who give feedback on all performances.

The Cheltenham Regional Festival will run over two days with the following sessions and focus:

Sunday 25th March (open to all youth music groups of any genres)

Session 1 from 12:00 - 15:00.
Session 2 from 17:00 - 20:00.

A total of 22 groups to perform including our very own county music groups, community youth music groups and student led ensembles.

Monday 26th March (our school music and band day)

Session 1 from 10:00 - 12:00.
Session 2 from 13:00 - 15:00.
Session 3 from 17:00 - 20:00 focus on bands.

25 performances from across the County showcasing the musical talents of our school children and local bands.

The Regional Festival Series is free to take part in and open to any type of group, style of music, and standard of playing. We only ask that you're a group of two or more musicians, aged 21 or under.
