All ages welcomed. Anyone, aged 8 years old or over is invited, and there’s no need for you to have any musical knowledge or experience. The course takes place on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th August, 10am-1pm at the Colwell Arts Centre, Gloucester.

Young musicians.
Following the course, learners can also attend FREE First Access Music Ensembles (FA.M.E.) sessions on Saturday mornings at music centres in Gloucester, Stroud and the Forest of Dean. Those who are already learning an instrument through school or privately can join the weekly groups without having attended the half day course. Instruments can be hired from Gloucestershire Music’s large stock of quality student instrument.

LAYP just for adults
Adult musicians can attend Learn As You Play (LAYP) lessons on Saturday mornings at our music centers in Gloucester, Stroud and the Forest of Dean. There is also a Thursday night LAYP session in Cheltenham as part of the Lakeside Concert Band. LAYP sessions cost just £5 a week. You can also hire an instrument from GM.

Going to miss this course? Why not go along to your local music center or band in Stroud, Gloucester, the Forest of Dean and Cheltenham and see what our F.A.M.E. and L.A.Y.P. is all about. Our centers and bands start back in September and full details can be found at www.gloucestershiremusic.co.uk

There will be opportunities to try a range of instruments (sorry no guitars or drum kits) that you may not have easy access to. These will include a variety of string, brass and woodwind instruments.
