Katie Jenner - Clarinettist

Katie Jenner (Clarinettist) from Wotton Under Edge is one of 5 finalists that will be appearing in the Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year final on Tuesday 6th March.
Katie spent many years with Gloucestershire Music and was a valued member of the Gloucestershire Youth Wind Orchestra where she undoubtedly developed her passion for wind band playing.
Katie is currently a second year clarinettist studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Since being at the conservatoire Katie has taken part in a variety of orchestral projects, including a wind orchestra joint concert with the Band of the Coldstream Guards. Next week she will play in the Gala opening concert with the conservatoire symphony orchestra conducted by Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla. Katie is also a member of the Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, who recorded a full studio album last year, as well as touring U.K. folk festivals in the summer. Since 2017 Katie has been a member of the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain. She also plays with The Band of the Mercian Regiment as an Army Reserve musician and in June 2017 they got the opportunity to be one of the bands at Changing of the Guards both at Buckingham Palace and at Windsor Castle.
You can hear Katie perform on Tuesday 6th March at the Pittville Pump Room as part of the 2018 Gloucestershire Young Musician Competition alongside 4 other talented young musicians.  Full details from:  http://www.cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk/whats-on/
