County Youth Music & Choir Auditions


GM run no less than 16 music centres and groups aimed at providing opportunities for musicians of all ages and levels to play, progress and perform.


National award winning Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra & outh Wind Orhcestra will be holding open auditions on Thursday evenings throughout January and February.  Students who are grade 6 (7 for GYO) and above are encouraged to come along and meet the players and tutors.  Weekly rehearsals take place each Thursday 18:30 - 21:00 at St Peter's High School, Gloucester.  Please email Steve Legge for more information.

The Gloucestershire Youth Sinfonia welcomes young players grade 5 and above to take their first steps into orchestral playing at a county level.  The orchestra rehearses each Tuesday in Gloucester.  GYS is the perfect first step into representing your county through music.  Please email Steve Legge for more information.

Gloucestershire Jazz Live is a music centre aimed at developing young jazz stars of the future.  The centre meets on Wednesdays at Bournside School, Cheltenham.  Our Academy Band welcomes players grade 4+ who have a passion for jazz (no experience required) with our County Youth Jazz Orchestra aimed at players grade 6 and above.  Please email Steve Legge for more information.

Since 2012, members of the Gloucestershire Youth Choir have performed at the Royal Albert Hall on two occasions.  Young sinders (aged 11+) benefit from three courses a year often with visiting professional singers and artists who work alongside our team of vocal tutors.  To find out if you are eligible to join, please email Lisa Mayo
