Course details:

Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th October 2018. Cheltenham Remembers - WW1 Focus with Newly Commissioned Work! 10:00 - 16:00 (plus evening concert on the 25th October). Course and concert at Cheltenham Town Hall. The Gloucestershire Youth Choir will undertake a two day course in their first meeting of the academic year.  They'll be learning a variety of pieces in preparation for the very special Cheltenham Remembers Concert, which will be held on the evening of 25th October at Cheltenham Town Hall.  The choir will be performing the premiere of a newly commissioned work (along with other pieces), which is being written especially for this occasion and will be performing with and alongside some of our top orchestral groups.

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th January 2019. GYC New Year, New Music Course! 10:00 - 16:00. Sir Thomas Rich's School, Oakleaze, Longlevens, Gloucester. GL2 0LF. The Gloucestershire Youth Choir will be exploring a whole new set of repertoire to show off their talents and they will be preparing for a recording session at the end of the course, when they can appreciate their final efforts and hear their performances back.  One of these recordings will be submitted for their recorded entry to Music For Youth - who knows, if they are good enough it might see them get through to the National Festival in Birmingham later in the year!

Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th April 2019. GYC Film Music Course! 10:00 - 16:00. Sir Thomas Rich's School, Oakleaze, Longlevens, Gloucester. GL2 0LF The Gloucestershire Youth Choir will be preparing some fantastic extracts from some of the best vocal film music scores.  The choir will be working alongside Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra and therefore have the opportunity for some collaborative pieces.  The pieces that we explore will also help students to gain a better understanding of music which links to set works and wider listening areas of the 'Music for Stage and Screen' modules, which are currently on many GCSE and A Level Music courses.  We also hope to have an extremely exciting opportunity for the groups in line with this course, which is top secret at the moment but we will update you as soon as we have confirmed arrangements!  Watch this space!

Yours sincerely,
