But what if you have always wanted to play a musical instrument but have not had the chance?  Well GM can offer you just that.  Gloucestershire Music (LA Music Service) offers a range of groups where you can ‘Learn As You Play’ or Sing.

BRASS & WOODWIND PROGRAMME at Lakeside Concert Band (LCB)

LCB meet on Thursday evenings at Lakeside Primary School and has a thriving membership of over 40 adults who have all started through our LAYP scheme.  LCB are now offering brass and some woodwind (clarinet, saxophone, flute) lessons for adults on Thursday evenings. Sessions cost £5 a week paid via our music card scheme.  LAYP is free to current GM music card members.  Instrument hire can be arranged.  You can find out more details about LCB via this link

Steven Legge (Former Extended Learning & Provisions Manager - Gloucestershire Music) said:  we run no less than 16 weekly music centres, band and orchestras for musicians of all ages and abilities.  Membership to our groups benefit from expert tuition, visits from professional musicians and performances at venues including Royal Northern College of Music, Cheltenham Town Hall and the iconic Royal Albert Hall.   We hope our LAYP scheme will encourage many more adults to take up an instrument and make music together.
