A record breaking 10 Gloucestershire wind and jazz bands performed at the West of England heat of the ‘National Concert Band Festival’ on Sunday 24th November. All 10 bands are supported and run by Gloucestershire Music.

The competition, now in its 21st year, provides a platform for some of Gloucestershire’s finest young musical talent to perform at the impressive Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham.

London-based Bad Ass Brass visited our jazz group rehearsals last week (20th March). The band - which takes its influence from the sounds of traditional New Orleans brass bands but adds its own unique twist - hived off a couple of members to each of three different Gloucestershire Music jazz bands, at different levels, who enjoyed and benefited from the shared experience.
