Our tutors and music leaders

Our pupils are sometimes surprised to know that their tutors are actually musicians!

In fact the team behind Gloucestershire Music is made up of more than 150 highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic local musicians, our tutors, backed by management and admin and instrument workshop teams based at Colwell Arts Centre. We also work with a range of other partners.

Many of our tutors have trained at leading music colleges and universities and bring a wide range of expertise to our service and to schools. Our teachers are all CRB cleared and attend regular training and staff development sessions.

Each week our tutors share their skills with more than 10,000 young musicians, teaching instruments via one-to-one or group tuition in schools, leading out of school hours music groups, or the groups in our music centres, and other activities. Many of our tutors are actively involved in the wealth of community music projects and organisations that contribute to Gloucestershire's rich cultural life.
